100 Days!

We hope everyone had a great long weekend and family day!
Our poem this week is called "100th Day of Poem". Our sight words are: ride, black, must, well
These are the last sight words of our 2nd list. Please continue to practice all of our sight words. We will be handing out our 3rd and last list during March student led conferences!
Today we worked more on "doubles" in math. We are learning to remember number facts quickly and automatically. We played a game called "Doubles Aren't Trouble" to help reinforce these math facts.
In class, we also use the website ABCYA for some quick math games and activities. You can access this at home too. The students love playing these little games to help support their mathematical learning.

Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread man!

We had a very exciting day full of surprises! This morning as we were learning our new poem about the gingerbread man, we discovered that our gingerbread people we made on Friday ran away!! They left us a note, and we went on a gingerbread man hunt around the school! Ask me where we had to look and where we finally found them! This afternoon we went up on stage and practiced our song for our concert this week! We are so excited to show you our Sugar Plum dance. This afternoon a package came for us! It was freezing cold and had snow on it! It came all the way from the North Pole! We opened it up and it was an Elf! We will learn what our Elf's name is tomorrow! Here is our new poem of the week and our new sight words: ran, ate, eat, he, no

Here is our first 5 words from our new sight word list! This week's words are: do all under on at This is our poem of the week: This week we are talking all about perseverance. We counted that he tried at least 5 different ways to catch a star and did not give up until one of his ways worked! We brained stormed what perseverance is and made a list. Then, we drew pictures of a time that we thought something was hard but had to persevere to accomplish it. We drew before and after pictures of what it looks and feels like to persevere! Some of us drew about learning how to ride a bike, swim, skate, climb monkey bars, and play hockey. REMINDERS: We seem to have a fruit fly problem ...
